The Importance of communication skills for engineers

Employers identify communication as one of the basic competencies every

graduate should have, asserting that the ability to communicate is valuable for

obtaining employment and maintaining successful job performance.”

[My Summary] Graduates should use the opportunity in university to develop good communication skills, which enable them to express and impress themselves to others. You must be a good listener and good at asking questions, it doesn't just limit to what you speak but also how you present yourself. Good communication reflects in two ways, in which one must listen as well as speak. Excellent communication skills are the foundation of many other key employability skills, which include Leadership & Management, Teamwork & Relationship building, Influencing skills, and many more. Graduates were often put through various competitions in order to obtain employment opportunities, which usually include verbal and non-verbal communication. The process of summiting a cover letter and undergoing interviews are widely practiced by almost every organization, therefore the importance of having effective communication skills has shown a great advantage over other competitors.
